August is Women's Month in South Africa. During 2020, we linked up with 100s in community to do the #JerusalemaChallenge
The #WOMANDLACHALLENGE was launched on 9 August 2020. Led by some of the hottest dance teams in Gauteng, this two month challenge rolled out across South Africa and celebrated our women and the #Jerusalemachallenge - the song and dance by Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode that kept the world moving and smiling during lockdown.
It began with a massive WOMANDLA sign that a group of dynamic artists painted on a street in Maboneng - and continued with a two month challenge to community groups, organisations and teams to do the same.
The core team, led by the Katlehong Kids, met every Sunday to learn the moves that garnered the Kids 8 million views on YouTube. And the community joined them in socially distanced ways each Sunday.
May community members instead filmed their versions and uploaded them to our Facebook and YouTube channels. And donated to our primary beneficiaries - such organisations as Fight With Insight; Women and Men Against Child Abuse and Afrika Awake, as well as the Inner City CAN (Community Action Network) - all of which are dedicated to assisting women and children's empowerment programmes, primarily in the inner city of Johannesburg.
The original launch on 6 August was accompanied by a city-wide run by WMACA and other groups as well as a major broadcast.
Hollard graciously joined to provide financing for the project which was situated in the Maboneng Commercial district - courtesy of the development team there.
That's it. That was all we asked. And with that we fed, protected and empowered vulnerable South African Women and Children
Proceeds of the event were donated to our partners: THE INNER CITY COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK COLLECTIVE and a broad range of beneficiary organisations, including Women and Men Against Child Abuse, Fight with Insight, Africa Awake, and beneficiaries of Gauteng Together and Angel Networks as well as the broad alliance of Community Action Networks (CANs) across South Africa)

Quite the most spectacular interpretation of the project. Thank you Hollard for your support.
What a beautiful and sensitive insert. Thank you Social-TV for all that you do for communities across South Africa!
THANK YOU
